Well, not the best month but still a reasonable 83.12 miles for May. I would like to have topped the hundred miles but I mustn’t complain I suppose.

Now where does 83 miles get me to from Lion-sur-Mer? Still heading West I avoid most of the Cherbourg peninsular by cutting straight across and passing through St-Lo in the process. The main claim to fame (unless you know different) is that it was a major stepping point during the D-Day offensive.

This is more or less exactly half way to my next monthly stop-over at Saint-Jean-le-Thomas at the far side of the peninsular. I am still in Lower Normandy but will see Brittany this time next next month. Meanwhile, a look at the church that gave the village it’s name L’église de Saint-Jean-le-Thomas.

If I had the money I’d stay at the Château Les Hauts.
